Let’s go.

A word about the photos. The walk has 27 stops. Today we will view 15, and next week the balance. The placards are behind glass, so even on a dull day, the trees cast serious reflections. The solution is a large black cloth held behind me as I photograph. Unfortunately, that requires someone to hold the cloth. Twiggy, Tempeste, and The Producer were busy when it was time for the photo shoot. I cropped and edited the photos to make them easier to read. You can enlarge the photos for easier reading. Not perfect, but I hope you enjoy.

  1. Oh, i love the ideas your community realises all over the year. I hope Twiggy and Tempeste could be seen wearing Sombreros. 😉 Enjoy a nice rest of the weekend, John! xx Michael

  2. What a wonderful community initiative by Lakeway, John! You did a fantastic job editing around those tricky glass reflections—though it’s too bad your assistant crew was unavailable for black cloth duty! I had a good laugh over coldhandboyack’s IT guy comment about Tenochtitlán, and srbottch’s joke about the staff being out on the dance floor! I also smiled reading Marie A Bailey’s sweet memory of her childhood crush on Herb Alpert. That seafood platter menu sounds divine, too. Have a great week ahead!

  3. Fascinating information. I love when the various ethnic communities are recognized. The food and music are all great!! I’m sure Twiggy and Tempeste would have been able to hold up the black cloth for you. Well maybe they would just play with it instead.

  4. My Mom used play Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass Band on her old stereo when I was growing up. Later she got the same album on 8 track and we’d listen to it while driving in her car. Thanks for that memory!

Did I miss a board? Was food included? I love Mexican food. I had it for lunch yesterday. Yummy! Can’t forget the food!

  5. I used to have a guayabera, a couple of them actually. Very comfortable. As for the walk, I decided to try that 100 dollar cheesesteak since it’s not every day I can learn me some history AND grub on a 100 dollar cheesesteak. Love the history AND the good AND the song.
