Thursday – A Little Personal – Twiggy, Lucy, and Bailey Hit the Yard

“So Twiggy. What are you doing?”

“Huh?” Oh, Nothing.”

Turn around and tell me.”

“I was just wondering if I could play with the big dogs?”

“Sure you can. You do have to be careful, and so do they.”

“Can you get my leash?”

“Sure. But why?”

“Gives me a little something to talk about.”

Lucy and Twiggy

“Hey, Lucy. Check out my leash.”

“Well, Little One it is certainly pink.”

“Looks okay though, right?”

“I kinda like going commando in the yard.”

“How’s this?”

“Much better. Run over to the fence.”

“I’m going to romp with you.”

Twiggy and Lucy

“Okay, here I am. You’re not going to play rough are you?”

“For heaven’s sake, Twiggy. You are such a dweeb. Why would I play rough?”

Lucy and Twiggy

“Dad said to be careful.”

“I get it. Okay here’s what we are doing. I’m going to run, and you chase me.”

“That sounds pretty much fun. I’ll give you a head start.”

“Okay ha ha ha.”

“Thanks for the game, Lucy. Do you think Bailey wants to play?”

“Hey, Bailey.”

“Get up and run like a madwoman and let Little stuff chase you.”

“Thank you, Baily. That was terrific.”

“You are fast one Little Stinker. Next time give me a better lead.”

“So how did it go, Twiggy?”

“I learned it is better to go commando than with a leash.”

“Not a surprising lesson from your sisters.”

“And running with the big dogs is a lot of work.”

“That it is Twiggy. Would you do it again.”

“In a heartbeat, Dad, I had so much fun. Nap time now.

  1. “For heaven’s sake, Twiggy. You are such a dweeb.” LOL! I loved this, John. Thanks for starting my Thursday with a smile.

    1. Thank you for letting me know. 😀

  2. Gwen Plano · ·

Ahh, little Twiggy is so huggable. Loved the dialogue and the photos. Such a great way to begin the day. 😀

    1. Thank you, Gwen. Good to know you enjoy the series. 😀

  3. A cute little story. It almost looks like they posed for you.

    1. Lucky I could hide the restraints (just kidding) Thanks, GP

  4. She looks so sleepy in that last one. Love these Thursday posts.

    1. Thank you Charles. She was sleepy and does love her naps. 🙂

      1. Playing and napping all day? That’s the life we should all aspire to.

      2. I’m at that point and still don’t do it. Go figure.

      3. All I can figure is that humans are raised to think they have to keep working. There’s an odd level of guilt if you relax for more than hour during the week.

      4. It is odd for sure.

  5. Twiggy, like most rookies, still needs some conditioning for yard play. But she has a great veteran presence to help her along. And before you know it . . she’ll be playing with the big dogs!

    1. Seems a long way off, but you are right, Marc. 😀

      1. Twiggy has been named Rookie of the Year . . it’s official!

      2. It was a landslide. She thanked her veteran teammates and her brilliant coaching staff . . .

      3. Don’t forget the little people who made it all possible.

      4. Littler than Twiggy? 🙂

      5. They just seem that way from high on the castle wall.

  6. Honestly, I’m beginning to develop a little affection for Twiggy. I don’t know a thing about dog breeds — or not much. Is she the same breed as the big dogs? Will she eventually become the same size? She certainly seems ready to run with the big dogs already.

    1. She is a French Bulldog. She should be about half the size of the big dogs. They are 50 pounds she will be about 20. She loves to run with them. Thanks, Linda.

  7. Twiggy looks exhausted. ‘Going commando in the yard’ – love it!

  8. Twiggy seems partial to Lucy!

    1. It’s that Bailey is such a princess she is a little stand offish still.

      1. Oh … Now that changes the perspective!

  9. Ah… a moment of pure sweetness. Thanks John. Hugs to all of you.

    1. Thank you, Teagan. 😀

  10. Just reading that was exhausting. We all need a nap now. 🙂

    1. Way ahead of you. Thanks, Greg.

Twiggy is right it is tough running with the big dogs. They are so cute together and highly photogenic:)

    1. Thank you, Denise.

  12. Thanks for the smile! It is very hard work running with the big dogs. 🙂

    1. I think you are right. 😀

  13. she is such a heartbreaker…wait 1-2 years and you’ll see haha, Dad! 😂✌️all the boys will stay near ur doors

    1. She is a heartbreaker. That’s why she will be spayed so the ugly boys can go somewhere else. 😀

  14. I loved this, John. That Twiggy is so darn cute – I want to grab her for a cuddle!

  15. Adorable, and I’m glad the older dogs are willing to play with her.

    1. Me too. Otherwise it would be a nightmare.

  16. Love this ❤

  17. Looks like great entertainment, “Dad”. You guyshave a stellar weekend.

    1. Thanks Cheryl. You have a stupendious weekend as well.

      1. Thank you!

      2. Full report needed.

  18. Oh my, she’s adorable, John. I’m glad her sisters are taking such good care of her.

    1. We have had a couple of dust-ups but by and large all is well. (Twiggy doesn’t seem to understand why a big dog doesn’t want her hanging off their jowels)

      1. They’ll teach her quick

  19. Aw, these gals are so precious! I think you’ve done an admirable job putting their conversations down, too. Is it my imagination, or has Twiggy grow a bit since we last saw her?

    1. She is over five pounds heading to six.

      1. Still pickup-able!

      2. Oh yeah. Holding on is a challenge. (Ms. Wiggle-worm) 😀

  20. That last picture is so cute, John.

    1. Thak you, Robbie. She was pretty tired.

  21. I am in love with Twiggy. Lucy and Bailey are taking good care of her. 🙂

    1. Thanks, Jennie.

      1. You’re welcome, John.

  22. Another gem post, John! So cute. They always bring an instant smile. Happy Friday! 🙂

    1. Thank you, Natalie. 🙂

  23. AWWwww! She’s adorable! I’m so glad they all get on so well. This was such a fun post to read. I’m smiling ear to ear!

    1. Thank you, Deborah. Glad it made you smile.

  24. I’m late chiming in (I’ve been on vacation) but, of course, I couldn’t let a visit with the girls pass unnoticed. Lucy and Bailey are really showing the newbie how everything is done. And Twiggy is just so adorable. I love the first picture with her back to the camera (she’s so tiny!) and the last one when she’s all tuckered out. 🙂

    1. She was totally tuckered. Thank you, Mae.

    1. Thank you, Traci. 😀
