“So Twiggy. What are you doing?”
“Huh?” Oh, Nothing.”
Turn around and tell me.”
“I was just wondering if I could play with the big dogs?”
“Sure you can. You do have to be careful, and so do they.”
“Can you get my leash?”
“Sure. But why?”
“Gives me a little something to talk about.”
“Hey, Lucy. Check out my leash.”
“Well, Little One it is certainly pink.”
“Looks okay though, right?”
“I kinda like going commando in the yard.”
“How’s this?”
“Much better. Run over to the fence.”
“Why?”
“I’m going to romp with you.”
“Okay, here I am. You’re not going to play rough are you?”
“For heaven’s sake, Twiggy. You are such a dweeb. Why would I play rough?”
“Dad said to be careful.”
“I get it. Okay here’s what we are doing. I’m going to run, and you chase me.”
“That sounds pretty much fun. I’ll give you a head start.”
“Okay ha ha ha.”
“Thanks for the game, Lucy. Do you think Bailey wants to play?”
“Hey, Bailey.”
“What?”
“Get up and run like a madwoman and let Little stuff chase you.”
“Thank you, Baily. That was terrific.”
“You are fast one Little Stinker. Next time give me a better lead.”
“So how did it go, Twiggy?”
“I learned it is better to go commando than with a leash.”
“Not a surprising lesson from your sisters.”
“And running with the big dogs is a lot of work.”
“That it is Twiggy. Would you do it again.”
“In a heartbeat, Dad, I had so much fun. Nap time now.
“For heaven’s sake, Twiggy. You are such a dweeb.” LOL! I loved this, John. Thanks for starting my Thursday with a smile.

I’m at that point and still don’t do it. Go figure.

All I can figure is that humans are raised to think they have to keep working. There’s an odd level of guilt if you relax for more than hour during the week.

Twiggy, like most rookies, still needs some conditioning for yard play. But she has a great veteran presence to help her along. And before you know it . . she’ll be playing with the big dogs!

Honestly, I’m beginning to develop a little affection for Twiggy. I don’t know a thing about dog breeds — or not much. Is she the same breed as the big dogs? Will she eventually become the same size? She certainly seems ready to run with the big dogs already.

She is a French Bulldog. She should be about half the size of the big dogs. They are 50 pounds she will be about 20. She loves to run with them. Thanks, Linda.

She is a heartbreaker. That’s why she will be spayed so the ugly boys can go somewhere else. 😀

We have had a couple of dust-ups but by and large all is well. (Twiggy doesn’t seem to understand why a big dog doesn’t want her hanging off their jowels)

Aw, these gals are so precious! I think you’ve done an admirable job putting their conversations down, too. Is it my imagination, or has Twiggy grow a bit since we last saw her?

I’m late chiming in (I’ve been on vacation) but, of course, I couldn’t let a visit with the girls pass unnoticed. Lucy and Bailey are really showing the newbie how everything is done. And Twiggy is just so adorable. I love the first picture with her back to the camera (she’s so tiny!) and the last one when she’s all tuckered out. 🙂
